Senior Affairs Medicare Fair Series Continues Following October Events

Bear Canyon and Highland host first Medicare Fairs, with counseling sessions and additional events scheduled through November

October 15, 2026

The City of Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs has completed the first two events in its Medicare Fair series, held Oct. 14 at Bear Canyon Senior Center and Oct. 15 at Highland Senior Center. The series continues with one-on-one counseling sessions later this month and additional Medicare Fairs in November.

The fairs provide older adults with opportunities to speak with Medicare experts, ask questions about eligibility and enrollment, and learn more about benefits and available coverage options during Medicare's annual open enrollment season.

Participants at Bear Canyon and Highland can return for separate State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) counseling sessions, where personalized assistance will be available. Two additional Medicare Fairs will be held at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center and Barelas Senior Center, each followed by its own counseling session.
