North Valley Senior Center Gets Makeover

Project will renovate existing spaces and add a new multipurpose room

August 07, 2026

ALBUQUERQUE — Renovations begin this month at North Valley Senior Center on NW Fourth.

Updates will include improvements to the reception area and billiards room as well as the addition of a multipurpose room that will expand options for activities and gatherings. Work, led by Franken Construction, begins August 10 and is expected to conclude in spring 2027.

The center will remain open throughout the renovation project. Should construction activities require any changes to operations, the Department of Senior Affairs will notify participants in advance.

"Our senior centers see a lot of use every day," said Anna Sanchez, Department of Senior Affairs director. "We want these spaces to be as pleasant and useful as possible to help older adults stay active, connected, and healthy."

The renovation project is part of the City’s commitment to providing welcoming facilities and recreational, educational and social opportunities that support the well-being of Albuquerque's older residents.

Additional details about the project, including any impacts to center programs during construction, will be shared as it becomes available. For more information call the North Valley Senior Center at 505-761-4025.
