More Than Just Another Holiday Craft Fair

Ageless Artisan Craft Fair serves as an economic driver for local older artists.

The Department of Senior Affairs and event sponsor, Western Sky Community Care, are giving Albuquerque's senior center artisans an opportunity to use the winter edition Ageless Artisan Craft Fair as an economic driver for showcasing their many works of art. The fair is hosted at the Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center on Saturday, November 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The free event invites the community to come shop the artworks from our community’s Ageless Artisans featuring unique, one-of-a-kind items just in time for holiday shopping such as tin art, wood work, ceramics, photography, mixed media, jewelry, and much more.

“I have seen many older adult artists throughout our center art programs that have the opportunity to become entrepreneurs with the level of talent that they hold, it is nice to be able to help empower and support them in that effort,” said Anna Sanchez, Director of Senior Affairs. “Plus, people can get a head start on shopping and shop local, which is always fantastic.”

“At Western Sky we believe living creatively and staying healthy go hand in hand and we are delighted to partner with the Albuquerque Department of Senior Affairs to bring this experience to our community,” said Jean Wilms, CEO & President of Western Sky Community Care.

The event will also feature a car show, food trucks, and on-site pet adoptions from City of Albuquerque’s Animal Welfare Department. Admission is free and open to the public. Visit our website for more information.
