Halloween Happenings Bring a Week of Fun to Senior Affairs

Halloween is taking over Senior Affairs this October, with five events planned at senior and multigenerational centers across Albuquerque from Oct. 23–30.

The festivities begin Friday, Oct. 23, with Fall Fest at Manzano Mesa Multigenerational Center, featuring a haunted house, trunk-or-treat, games and more.

On Wednesday, Oct. 28, Santa Barbara Martineztown Multigenerational Center will host its 3rd Annual Spooktacular Trunk-or-Treat, with a car show, movie, refreshments and live music from Paul Pino and the Tone Daddies.

Three more events round out the week on Friday, Oct. 30. Manzano Mesa will start the day with a Halloween Pet Parade from 10 to 11 a.m. Later that afternoon, Ghastly Gala will bring costumes, dancing, treats and music to Barelas Senior Center from 1:30 to 4 p.m. Admission is $3, or free for those in full costume, and Ghastly Gala is open to Senior Affairs members only.

The celebration wraps up with Fright Night from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at North Domingo Baca Multigenerational Center. Senior Affairs and Parks and Recreation are partnering for the evening, which will include a carnival, haunted house, dance party, movie, trunk-or-treat and food trucks.

Four of the five Halloween events are free and open to the public. Ghastly Gala is open to Senior Affairs members and is $3, or free for those in full costume.
