Annual Senior Picnic Returns Friday
Event celebrates the senior community with music, activities, lunch and fun
Seniors can enjoy live music, activities, lunch and time with friends at the annual Senior Picnic from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 17, at the Santa Barbara Martineztown Multigenerational Center, 1825 Edith Blvd. NE.
The annual event offers older adults an opportunity to gather with friends and neighbors while enjoying live music, raffle drawings, a rock-climbing wall, lunch and other activities.
Registration is required for all attendees. Participants must RSVP with the Santa Barbara Martineztown Multigenerational Center front desk by Thursday, July 16, by calling 505-767-5671.
Attendees may purchase a lunch prepared by the center or bring their own. Those who wish to purchase a lunch from the center must reserve it by 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 16.
"The Senior Picnic is one of the ways we bring older adults together to stay active, build connections and enjoy time with one another," said Anna Sanchez, director of the Department of Senior Affairs. "Events like this encourage healthy aging and help foster a stronger, more connected community."
The annual Senior Picnic is part of the Department of Senior Affairs' ongoing commitment to providing recreational, educational and social opportunities that support the health and well-being of Albuquerque's older adults.
