APD Homicide Investigation Updates

ALBUQUERQUE - The Albuquerque Police Department released the following updates to homicide investigations:

 

There were two homicide investigations initiated in the last 7 days. The victims from both homicides have been identified.

 

Date of homicide:     8/27/2021

Location:                    443 Texas St. N.E.

Victim:                        Samuel James Adviento (2/7/1968)

 

Date of homicide:     8/28/2021

Location:                    500 Tennessee St. N.E.

Victim:                        Gabriel Garcia (Zimmerman) (9/2/2004)

 

In addition, one case has changed in status from a homicide investigation to a drug overdose. Detectives received autopsy results from the incident on July 16, 2021 at 1604 Hiawatha Dr. N.E. OMI determined the decedent died from a heart attack caused by a drug overdose.

 

With this change, APD has or is currently investigating 79 homicide cases involving 83 homicide victims. An updated list is on APD’s web site.
