APD Arrests Metro 15 Offender Michael Mathews

Mathews was wanted for a probation violation stemming from charges for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and dangerous drugs.

APD officers with the Violence Intervention Division today arrested Metro 15 Offender Michael Mathews.

Mathews, 29, was wanted for a probation violation stemming from charges for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon on a peace officer and dangerous drugs. Mathews has a violent criminal history.

A total of 37 offenders have been arrested since the Metro 15 operation began. The Metro 15 Operation is a targeted component of Mayor Keller’s Violence Intervention Program – a proactive effort to attack violent crime from all sides.

The Metro 15 is a working list of the top 15 violent crime offenders in Albuquerque identified by the Bernalillo County District Attorney’s Office, the New Mexico Attorney General’s Office, the state Office of Superintendent of Insurance, and APD.
