Hate Crimes

Actions taken by the Office of Equity and Inclusion to address hate crimes in the City of Albuquerque:

In the recent past, the Office of Equity and Inclusion partnered with the the Department of Justice, The U.S. Attorney, the FBI and the Albuquerque Police Department ambassador program to co-organized the Afghan listening sessions and the Protecting Places of Worship Forum for faith leaders. The objective was to listen, and share information to prevent hate crimes.

Parallel efforts have taken place before when the City of Albuquerque offered a training in 2018 and 2021 facilitated and organized by the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law and the Navajo Nation Human Rights Commission.
