Supportive Housing Vouchers are incredibly successful to help people permanently exit homelessness and remain stable. To access housing vouchers, contact one of the agencies below or call the Homeless Help Line at 505-768-HELP (4357)
Below are the qualifications for people served and a list of programs funded fully or in part by the City of Albuquerque through the following Vouchers:

Rapid Re-Housing (RRH)
Supportive housing programs that provide housing assistance for up to 24 months. RRH is for people who are currently homeless and need short-term rental assistance and support to move quickly into housing. A disability is not required, but households must meet income limits (usually at or below 30% of Area Median Income). Most referrals are made through Coordinated Entry. To get assessed, individuals should visit an Access Point.
Barrett Foundation
For single females with children. Focuses on families with children, delivering Rapid Re-Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, and housing stabilization services alongside shelter, case management, and family-centered supports.

Catholic Charities – Proyecto la Luz
For Individuals and families with Children. Offers RRH and PSH with comprehensive case management, housing navigation, and supportive services for individuals and families exiting homelessness.

Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH)
Permanent housing for homeless individuals with chronic mental illness or substance abuse issues. PSH is for people who are currently homeless and have a documented disability, such as a serious mental illness, substance use disorder, physical disability, developmental disability, or chronic health condition. Many programs prioritize people who have been homeless for a long time or repeatedly over several years. Households must meet income limits (usually at or below 40% of Area Median Income) and be referred through Coordinated Entry. To be assessed, individuals should visit an Access Point.
Albuquerque Health Care for the Homeless
Provides Permanent Supportive Housing paired with integrated medical, behavioral health, and supportive services, primarily serving the population experiencing homelessness in the ABQ/BernCo service area.

Other Voucher & Housing Resources
Project-Based Vouchers
Monarch Properties administers up to 129 City-funded project-based vouchers at all City-owned apartment communities. The project-based vouchers provide long-term housing assistance that is tied to specific housing units rather than to an individual household. These vouchers support deeply affordable housing by ensuring units remain available for people with lower income. They serve households at or below 50% Area Media Income who are not participating in the City’s existing affordable housing program at these properties or receiving another local, state or federal housing subsidy.

Hotel / Motel Vouchers
Hotel and motel vouchers provide short-term, emergency housing for individuals and households who need immediate shelter while longer-term housing options are identified. These vouchers are time-limited and are intended to stabilize people quickly and connect them to services and permanent housing pathways.
The Albuquerque Housing Authority
The Albuquerque Housing Authority administers public housing and Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) programs, providing rental assistance and affordable housing options for low- and moderate-income individuals and families in Albuquerque.

Linkages Program
Linkages is a state-funded permanent supportive housing program that provides long-term rental assistance and supportive services to individuals with a serious mental illness diagnosis who are also homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. The program is administered by local service providers.

Community Connections Supportive Housing (Bernalillo County)
Bernalillo County’s Behavioral Health Initiative, in partnership with the University of New Mexico and the City of Albuquerque, operates CCSH, a jail reentry and frequent-utilizer supportive housing program. CCSH provides scattered-site housing subsidies and intensive wraparound services for individuals experiencing homelessness with behavioral health needs, including those with criminal justice involvement or high emergency room utilization.
