Albuquerque’s annual Spring into Summer event will return on Saturday April 29, 2023 from 10a.m. - 2p.m. at Tiguex Park (1800 Mountain Rd NW) to celebrate the spring weather and help families gear up for summer. This free, family-friendly event will feature music, pickleball, food trucks, games, a climbing wall, and key information about the City of Albuquerque’s summer youth programs.

“Access to fun, creative, and affordable summer programs is huge for so many families,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Our whole community is better off when we keep kids safe and engaged, so come on out, learn about the options, and have a fun with the whole family while you’re at it.”

As the weather warms up and parents begin to prepare for summer, the City and community partners are here to support families and ensure that kids of all ages have options for out-of-school time. In addition to multiple city departments, community organizations including Explora, Youth Development Inc (YDI), YMCA, and even KRQE will be on hand with information about additional summer opportunities.

“We hope to see Albuquerque out in full force on Saturday to enjoy live music, local food, and fun family activities,” said Cristin Chavez-Smith, leader of One ABQ: YouthConnect. “Looking ahead to summer, we want to make sure families know what’s out there and are set up for success.”

The City of Albuquerque provides full-day free or low-cost summer programs at more than 20 community centers, 2 multi-generational centers, select APS locations, and the Open Space Visitor’s center. Partial day camps and classes take place at the BioPark, Albuquerque Museum, Explora, recreation facilities, and libraries.

Programs serve youth of all ages. See the full list of summer youth activities, registration dates, and information about the event at cabq.gov/summer.

Spring into Summer attendees can park for free at the Albuquerque Museum on the day of the event.
