Spooky Season in ABQ: City Offers Many Festive, Family-Friendly Ways to Celebrate
From haunted houses to trunk or treats and more, Albuquerque families have plenty of ways to enjoy the season.
–The Halloween season is here and the City of Albuquerque is filling this month with opportunities for residents of all ages to celebrate. From haunted houses and trunk or treats to pumpkin themed activities, pet parades, skate jams, and Día de los Muertos celebrations, families can choose from a wide range of festive events happening all over Albuquerque.
With events taking place throughout the city, families can find something that fits their interests and schedule. Many activities are free or low cost which makes it easy for families to enjoy.
“We want families to have as many opportunities as possible to enjoy the holiday season safely and together.” said Mayor Tim Keller. “From community centers and libraries to our outdoor spaces, there are so many ways to get out, have fun and enjoy this time of year.”
Residents are encouraged to explore the many events available and choose activities that work best for their families. For Halloween activities, families can also help make celebrations safe for everyone by:
- Wearing reflective costumes or adding light or glow sticks
- Carrying flashlights when walking after dark
- Walking with a group of family or friends

- Free Haunted Houses: The Trails Have Eyes — Oct. 10, 16, 17, 23, 24, 30, 7pm–9:30 pm, Joan Jones Community Center @ Pat Hurley Lower Loop; Join us for fun haunted tours through this spooky community center. Tours are free and wheelchair accessible.
- Monster Mash Trunk or Treat Event — Oct. 24, 4:00–7:00 pm, Alamosa Community Center / Ted M. Gallegos Complex.
- Trunks & Treats — Oct. 24, 5:00–8:00 pm, Westgate Community Center
- Operation Great Pumpkin — Oct. 28, 5:00–8:00 pm, Cesar Chavez Community Center
