Community Revved Up at Car Show and Block Party at Westgate Community Center
Families enjoyed food trucks, games and music at westside event
Today, Westgate Community Center came alive with the sights, sounds, and spirit of community during its annual Car Show & Block Party. Over 400 of residents gathered to enjoy classic cars, local vendors, family fun, music, and local flavor.
“Events like this highlight the strength and heart of our neighborhoods,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “When we invest in community spaces like Westgate, we build connection, pride, and opportunity for every generation.”
Attendees explored rows of custom and classic vehicles, enjoyed food from Tacos for Tots and The Paleta Bar (Tramway), and danced to high-energy music provided by Lake City Productions – Mobile DJ Services. A variety of local vendors offered handmade goods, community resources, and unique finds for all ages.
The Westgate splash pad was also open throughout the event, giving kids and families a refreshing way to cool off in the summery weather.
“We were so happy to have so many families, friends, and neighbors come together,” said Activities Coordinator Aubrey Sandoval. “It’s always amazing to see what happens when the community gathers, especially around something as fun and nostalgic as a car show.”
The high turnout reflected weeks of preparation and enthusiasm from car owners and the Westgate community. The event was free and open to the public, offering something for all ages.
