Retail Task Force
A Retail Task Force has been developed to assist in an effort to promote a favorable environment for Retail Development.
Bill F/S R-08-119 was passed by the City Council to have Retail Development reviewed by Council Staff.
The information obtained will be shared with various stakeholders to assist in a comprehensive dialogue about retail development throughout the City. The Council Staff will provide recommendations based upon the discussions with the Task Force group.
The Task Force had its first meeting April 1, 2009.

The Task Force shall review data developed by staff and provide expertise on the following:
Barriers to retail development.
- Threshold market requirements for retail development to take place.
- General financial pro forma applied to retail development decisions.
The composition of the Task Force is intended to represent multiple levels of expertise in retail development, and knowledge in what factors play a role in retail location. The stakeholders in the group are diverse to ensure that the recommendations and input reflect all views of issues surrounding Retail Development.
