City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn to Speak at National Animal Rights Day Ceremony

The Councilor will join fellow activists at one of the largest globally-coordinated animal rights events in the world.

June 2, 2022

District 7 City Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn will be a guest speaker at this year’s National Animal Rights Day ceremony this Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Tiguex Park. National Animal Rights Day (NARD) is a memorial ceremony to commemorate the billions of animals who die every year by human hands and a celebration of the progress that is being made towards ending the suffering of animals and bringing forth their freedom.

Councilor Fiebelkorn is the first vegan animal rights activist to serve on the Albuquerque City Council and states; “NARD is an important event each year where we come together as a community to pay respect to the non-human animals who are terrorized, tortured and killed by and for humans. I hope residents of Albuquerque will join us to learn more about animal rights and easy steps each of us can take to reduce animal suffering.”

After the ceremony, a Plant-Powered Pop-Up market at Tiguex will feature vegan food and sweets, live music and vendors of all kinds. Bring the entire family out for a fun, informative day at the park with NARD!
