Frequently asked questions about resolving citations through community service.
Community Service FAQs
ONLY CITATIONS ISSUED BY THE CITY OF ALBUQUERQUE ARE ELIGIBLE FOR RESOLUTION THROUGH THIS COMMUNITY SERVICE PROCESS. YOUR CITATION MUST BEGIN WITH "ABQ" TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR OUR COMMUNITY SERVICE OPTION
Can I complete community service instead of paying the fine?
Yes, the Automated Speed Enforcement Ordinance and Rules allow ASE system fines to be resolved with four (4) hours of community service. To be eligible:
You must state your intent to complete community service within 30 days from the date of issuance of the first ASE System Fine Notice. After 30 days, you will no longer be eligible to request community service. Please be advised that you must complete all 4 hours of community service within 90 days of issuance of the ASE system fine notice date to have the citation considered as paid in full. Hours served must be performed with and verified by eligible service sites through the City’s ASE community service platform.
Can I complete less than 4 hours of community service?
Yes. Each hour of community service is counted toward the remaining balance in increments of $25. For example, a person could complete two hours of community service and then pay the remaining $50.
How state my intent to complete community service?
You must register your intent to complete community service for each and every citation separately within 30 days from the date of issuance of the ASE system fine notice. You can do this online at usview.cite-web.com or by phone at 844-652-0888.
How do I find and register for community service opportunities?
To create an account and view the community service options, visit our community service platform. All hours must be logged to the platform with the violation number you would like the hours applied to. Hours must be performed within 90 days of the date of issuance on the first ASE System Fine Notice to be eligible. Hours completed or logged after 90 days will not be applied to the ASE System Fine Notice(s).
