Applications Open for Ms. Nancy Day Grant

This grant provides free programming for APS kindergarten classes
November 26, 2024

In loving memory of Ms. Nancy, a kindergarten teacher, this grant has been funding free programming with the ABQ BioPark for kindergarten classrooms within Albuquerque Public Schools (APS) since 2017.

The New Mexico BioPark Society is excited to announce that the application for Ms. Nancy Day grants are now open! This grant funds a visit to the ABQ BioPark Zoo, Aquarium/Garden, or a BioPark staff led outreach to your classroom. Our in-person field trip grant recipients will win a field trip for all of the kindergarten classes at their school to visit the BioPark. For the in-person field trip admission to the BioPark, busing, student lunches, and access to education programming will be provided through the Ms. Nancy Day grant.

Outreach grant recipients will participate in a 45 minute program run by the animal experts in the BioPark’s education department and will bring students up close and personal with a variety of animals as they learn about the wonders of the natural world, and the adaptations that animals have for survival all over our planet.

We ask that one application be submitted per school, check in with your principal before submitting yours. In order to be eligible to apply you must be within Albuquerque Public Schools. View the application here.

The deadline to receive applications for 2025 programs is: January 10, 2025

The Nancy Day events will be held on April 3, 2025 at the Aquarium and Botanic Garden, and April 10, 2025 at the Zoo.
