ABQ BioPark Pollinator Pavilion to Remain Closed This Season for Renovations
The Pollinator Pavilion at the ABQ BioPark Botanic Garden typically opens for the season in late May. However, it will remain closed this season for repairs and renovations.
Having last been updated seven years ago, these renovations and repairs will also rejuvenate the weathered facility which has sustained some damage from the elements and curious wildlife.
The renovations will include:
- A new viewing and hatching room for butterfly chrysalis.
- Improved guest flow and containment improvements at the entrance vestibule and emergency exit.
- Improved deterrents to prevent local wildlife from breaching the structure containment.
In the meantime, be sure to buzz on by to the BUGarium, one of the most elaborate exhibits dedicated to bugs and arthropods in the country located within the BioPark Botanic Garden. Also, keep an eye out for the wide variety of charming wild butterflies and pollinators regularly spotted at the Botanic Garden.
The BioPark appreciates your patience as the Pollinator Pavilion undergoes this transformative "chrysalis" stage. Just like a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, we’ll emerge renewed and ready to welcome you back in the 2026 season.
