Description

Sculptor Karen Yank shares insights from her relationship with her mentor Agnes Martin, reflecting on their shared practices of meditation, a deep love for the land, and a devotion to expressing emotion through abstraction. The program includes an intimate look at the lives of these two artists and the impact of Martin’s teachings on Yank’s creative journey, followed by a brief gallery conversation in Abstracting Nature with Karen Yank.

Abstracting Nature celebrates the work of ten artists whose work reflects a kindred and enduring relationship with the New Mexico landscape. Support for this programming is provided in part by the Chicago Woodman Foundation.
