Results of Auto Theft Operation at Gathering of Nations
Weekend operation keeps visitors safe and nets 27 arrests and 11 recovered vehicles.

The Albuquerque Police Department announced results today of an auto theft operation conducted during the recent Gathering of Nations Pow Wow in Albuquerque.
APD’s Auto Theft Unit targeted the area around Expo New Mexico, the site of the Gathering of Nations, throughout the weekend in an effort to make the event safe for visitors.
The targeted enforcement resulted in the following:
- 15 felony arrests stemming from theft from a motor vehicle
- 1 misdemeanor arrest
- 11 recovered stolen vehicles
- 2 recovered stolen licenses plates
- 4 drug related arrests
- 3 guns recovered
- 7 bait car arrests
- 6 burglary
- 1 unlawful taking
