Board of Ethics
Administration of democratic government requires:
- Public officials be independent, impartial, and responsible to the people;
- Government decisions and policy be made in the best interest of the people, the community and the government;
- The public have confidence in the integrity of its government.
Towards this end, the Open and Ethical Elections Code (City Charter Article XVI) and Board of Ethics and Campaign Practices were established.
The Board of Ethics and Campaign Practices issues rules and regulations for its conduct and for interpretation and enforcementof the Election Code.

Pursuant to the Albuquerque City Charter: "The name and resume of any individual proposed for membership shall be posted on the city's website at least two weeks prior to the date when final action is taken to appoint that individual. Any person shall be allowed to submit comments about the proposed member by written submission, electronically or otherwise, to the City Clerk."
The names of Benjamin Silva and Cliff Richardson are submitted by the Mayor for reappointment to the Board of Ethics and Campaign Practices.
