Find when the next regularly-scheduled ABQ RIDE buses are arriving.

Effective January 31, 2026, the TXT2RIDE phone number is changing. For years, the number has been 27433 to text a number for information about your bus arrival time. Now, you can receive information in both English and Spanish by calling or texting 505-390-8787 (English) or 505-390-8900 (Español). ABQ RIDE encourages you to also try the Transit app, which is a free app to track your bus, plan your route, and more!

About TXT2RIDE

The TXT2RIDE service allows passengers to quickly access ABQ RIDE arrival information by calling or texting (505) 390-8787 (English) or (505) 390-8900 (Español). 

All you need is a phone capable of text messaging or calling and an ABQ RIDE bus stop number. Every bus stop in the ABQ RIDE system will be identified with a unique bus stop number sign puck in writing with braille accessibility.

How To: Request Schedule Information

Text

Step 1: Compose a text message to:  505-390-8787 (English) or 505-390-8900 (Español)

Step 2: Enter: the 4-digit bus stop number

Text Example

To: 505-390-8787

Text message: 4701

Step 3: Press "Send"

You will receive a text message response with the next predicted arrival time(s) for the bus stop selected.

If the bus stop serves more than one bus route, just enter a space followed by the route number for the route (after the stop number. Ex: 1729 16). 

Call

Step 1: Dial 505-390-8787 (English) or 505-390-8900 (Español) and enter the bus stop number when prompted.

Finding a Bus Stop Number

Bus STOP Numbers are available at ABQ RIDE bus stop pucks.

Bus Stop Number: Sign Pucks

To find the bus stop number, look for the round puck with a tactile blue 4-digit number posted on the bus stop pole four to five feet above the ground. Most pucks will face the sidewalk.

The bus stop number also appears in Type II Braille below the tactile number.

Bus Stop Number: Online

Option 1: Using ABQ RIDE "Plan Your Ride" Trip Planner.

  • Open Trip Planner
  • Open Schedules
  • Select a bus route
  • Click "Get Route"
  • Select a direction
  • Click "Show All Stops"
  • Find the bus stop number

Option 2: Using Google Maps

  • Open Google Maps
  • Zoom in to see bus stop icons; click on a bus stop icon to reveal the bus stop number
    • If multiple bus routes appear, click on a bus route
    • If multiple directions or endpoints appear, click on a bus route

Note for the Google Maps Application for Android Mobile Devices and iOS: Selecting a bus stop icon will not reveal bus stop numbers, only schedule data.

What is a bus stop number?

Each ABQ RIDE bus stop has a unique four-digit bus stop number that identifies the location of the bus stop.

Where is the bus stop number located on the web and on the street?

Bus stop numbers can be found in three places:

  1. ABQ RIDE Trip Planner
  2. Google Maps
  3. Bus stop number pucks

What if more than one route at my bus stop serves my destination? How can I find out which comes first?

Enter the stop number followed by a space then the route number.  Ex: 1729 5 or 7245 54

How much does this service cost?

ABQ RIDE does not charge a fee to use the TXT2RIDE service. Normal text messaging rates apply according to your mobile phone service provider and text message plan.

Does this service retrieve real time arrival information?

Yes. Predicted arrival times are provided when available. The time will say “Scheduled” if it is not predicting an arrival time. Please use the Transit app to locate buses within a minute's accuracy.

What if I can't get schedule information with this service?

Customer service agents are available to assist you at 243-RIDE (7433).

Will this service provide text updates about bus arrival or departure changes?

Alerts and notifications will accompany the first text message if such an alert or notification is posted for your route or stop.

What if I can't find a bus stop number puck at a bus stop?

Bus stop numbers are available on the web through the ABQ RIDE trip planner and on Google Maps or you can find your stop information at https://www.cabq.gov/transit/routes-and-schedules.
