ABQ RIDE Launches Newly Improved Transit the App

City of Albuquerque enhances bus schedule communication to transit riders.

Dec. 12, 2022

The City of Albuquerque’s Transit Department has implemented Rider Alerts to the existing Transit App, enhancing communication to passengers about unexpected updates to routes. Going forward, app users will have the ability to track delays, detours, cancelled trips, and other changes to ABQ RIDE routes in real time.

This new update also gives app users the ability to subscribe to their most frequented routes, allowing them to receive push notifications as soon as ABQ RIDE staff publish new information regarding that specific route. The photo below shows an example of where Transit App users will find information when a route arrival time has been cancelled.

“We understand the struggles our riders face during unexpected cancellations and are diligently working to improve their experience on ABQ RIDE,” said Transit Director Leslie Keener. “These new improvements to Transit the App will give riders an extra layer of communication when it comes to cancelled routes, assisting them in their trip planning efforts.”

Rider Alerts is a significant improvement to how ABQ RIDE interacts with passengers and removes barriers between the department and the people it serves. This new feature will update automatically so users will not have to re-download the app. The Transit App is available for free download from Apple and Android app stores.
