Description
Whispers in the Wild is an immersive gallery exhibition by Cathe Bloomfield Collard that explores the wonder, intelligence, and magic of the natural world through sculpture and watercolor. Inspired by the wildlife of her childhood landscape, Collard’s work blends realistic depictions of birds and animals with subtle elements of fantasy — kingfishers carry compasses, peregrine falcons wear spectacles, and delicate fairy forms emerge with wings crafted from collected cottonwood leaves.
This exhibition invites visitors to reconnect with nature through curiosity, imagination, and storytelling. Through highly detailed artwork and sculptural forms, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the beauty and significance of all living creatures and the importance of protecting the ecosystems that sustain them.
In addition to the exhibition, Collard will offer live sculpting demonstrations throughout the duration of the show, allowing visitors to witness the transformation of raw clay into finished wildlife sculptures. These demonstrations emphasize the slow, thoughtful process of creation and mirror the natural evolution found within the environment itself. Weekly progress documentation will capture the development of the featured sculpture, offering visitors a deeper understanding of both artistic practice and the interconnectedness of art and nature.
