Description

The Albuquerque Fiber Arts Council (AFAC), established in 1997, is a not-for-profit organization representing 15 diverse fiber guilds. Our mission is to ensure the current and future viability of fiber arts by supporting guilds, fiber artists, and the larger community through educational programs, funding, and public exhibits.

Collectively, our guilds span quilting, weaving, knitting, crochet, embroidery, spinning, dyeing, sewing, lacemaking, beadwork, wood turning, and contemporary mixed-media fiber arts. AFAC nurtures this rich ecosystem through three virtual galleries annually, bimonthly artist spotlights, community markets, exhibits, and workshops—enriching New Mexico’s cultural tapestry and keeping fiber arts vibrant for future generations.

Together, these guilds create a dynamic community of artists, teachers, and enthusiasts who share skills, inspire creativity, and connect New Mexico’s heritage with modern expression. The breadth of techniques and perspectives ensures that every exhibit offers something for viewers of all ages and backgrounds.
