Encaustic Wax Art Demonstration with Carolyn Berry!

Carolyn Berry will present a demonstration exploring the history and basics of using with encaustic wax as an art medium.  Using thin papers and collage images, she will create a sample art piece and discuss design strategies with attention to safety in working with hot wax, fusing skills and the unique properties of encaustic wax.

Description

Carolyn Berry has been passionate about teaching and making art for over 25 years.  As a public-school teacher, she has been named Kansas Art Education Association Outstanding Art Educator of the Year and has taught workshops for the Kansas City Art Institute Continuing Education, the Nelson Atkins Museum, Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts, New Mexico Art League and various art centers. She maintains a studio in Rio Rancho, NM.   Her art can be seen at the Encaustic Art Institute in Cerrillos, NM Corrales Society of Artists and the New Mexico Art League, on Instagram at #carolynberryart and at www.carolynberryart.com.
