Splashing into Fall: Several City Pools to Remain Open through September
The City of Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department isn’t ready to say good bye to summer quite yet, which is why several outdoor City pools will remain open through September. All indoor pools will begin their winter hours, and all other outdoor pools have closed for the season.
“School may be back in session, but we still want to make sure parents have safe and affordable options for their kids,” stated Mayor Keller. “Keeping the pools open on weekends through September is a great way for families to have fun and burn off some of that new school year energy.”
“For the first time ever, we’re able to extend the hours of our outdoor pools through September,” stated Josh Herbert, Aquatics Division Manager. “The temperatures are still warm, and we are excited to be able to offer Albuquerque families safe and affordable opportunities to continue to enjoy the City pools.”
Six of the City’s outdoor pools will remain open on weekends through Sunday, September 29, including Rio Grande, Wilson, West Mesa Aquatic Center, Eisenhower, Sierra Vista, and Sunport. See below for hours of operation at each facility or visit www.cabq.gov/aquatics.
