Operation Cooldown Chills City Parks This Week
Sprinklers will run Tuesday through Friday as temps forecast to hit 100 or higher.
ALBUQUERQUE – As part of Operation Cooldown 2026, a City effort to help people stay safe and comfortable during extreme summer heat, the Parks & Recreation Department (PRD) will run sprinklers at neighborhood parks throughout Albuquerque this week, with temperatures expected to reach 100 degrees or higher.
From Tuesday, July 28, through Friday, July 31, PRD will rotate sprinkler use through four groups of neighborhood parks. Sprinklers will run from 1 to 1:30 p.m. each day at the following locations:

Residents are encouraged to also take advantage of City pools and splash pads throughout the week to stay cool. Kids 17 and under swim free on Sundays; children under age two always swim free; and select pools offer $1 Swim Nights on Fridays.
