Open Space Visitor Center Presents Moonrise Concert with Dust City Opera
Dust City Opera, considered one of New Mexico’s freshest indie folk-rock bands, is led by singer-songwriter Paul Hunton. Dust City Opera is “known for [its] unique instrumentation, vibrant covers, and crafty songwriting, often juxtaposing dark, bold subject matter over whimsical, light-hearted melodies. Hunton’s songwriting is strikingly visual and spans the spectrum from playful to apocalyptic, balancing his powerful voice over exceptional arrangements of dreamy guitar licks and intensely rich horns." In addition to some great music, folks can enjoy food from a local food truck or bring a picnic feast and enjoy the views from our shaded patio. Doors open at 5:00 p.m. for early picnickers and the music will start shortly after 6:00 p.m. The evening will culminate with the rising of the moon over the Sandia Mountains. Don't miss it!
The next performances in the Moonrise Concert series include:
- August 10: CW Ayon, Mississippi Blues
- September 14: Stray Dawgs, Dusty Desert Bluegrass
