Westgate Little League Gets New Concessions.

October 20, 2025

A ballgame is always better with treats, and now the Westgate Little League has a new “snack shack.”  As part of upgrades to the Westgate Little League complex, located within Tower Park, the Parks & Recreation Department (PRD) acquired a concessions trailer for use by the league.

“We’re really excited about this new addition for the upcoming season,” said Westgate Little League President Erika Alvarado. “It allows us to better serve our families and visitors while also generating funds to support field improvements, new equipment, and player development.”

PRD purchased the 16-foot concessions trailer over the summer and made changes to the Westgate Little League complex to accommodate it, including electrical connection and security fencing. At the league’s request, the concessions trailer was not put into service right away. They plan to open the trailer in March 2026 at the start of the new season. Volunteers will operate the stand to generate support for the league’s youth programs and to help cover facility maintenance. The project was paid for by 2023 general obligation bond funds set aside specifically for Little League facilities.

"The new concession trailer is a home run for the Westgate Little League," said Klarissa J. Peña, District 3 City Councilor, and Council Vice President, "The partnership between the City and the Little League board of Directors has been instrumental in making the mobile concession trailer a reality for our amazing young athletes."

“Little League is part of the fabric of our community,” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Support like this plays into our Youth Connect priorities and is a smart investment in kids and their families.”
