City Kicks off Summer Hiring Season with Seventh Annual Youth Job & Volunteer Fair

Citywide collaboration sets young people up for success, connecting them to job opportunities and resources
February 05, 2025

Believe it or not, summer is right around the corner when it comes to summer employment! Youth, ages 14-25 can now register for the 2025 Youth Job & Volunteer Fair. The event will be on Saturday February 1st at the Berna Facio Professional Development Complex and serves as the official kick-off to the City’s summer hiring season. Young job seekers will be able to meet employers face to face, explore summer job options, network, and learn from professionals on public speaking, financial empowerment, resume writing, professionalism and more!

“Everyone remembers their first job!” said Director Katarina Sandoval “We look forward to providing that experience for Albuquerque’s youth as well as other educational sessions to prepare them for the workforce.”

The job fair will showcase hundreds of summer, part-time, and full-time jobs from employers across the metro, including over ten City of Albuquerque departments and numerous non-profits and local businesses. The New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions will be on site offering career exploration and resume building and Rio Grande Credit Union will offer Financial Empowerment. We will also educate attendees on public speaking, interview skills, professionalism and how to connect with employers after the job fair.

“Giving teens opportunities to succeed is key in building the next generation of leaders.” said Mayor Tim Keller. “Young people want safe spaces and opportunity for success. This job fair is one of the many ways the City looks to connect them with those spaces.”

The City of Albuquerque is one of the largest employers of young people in the state, and expanding programming and opportunities for youth is a priority for the Keller administration. This event is free, and pre-registration is required. Learn more about this year’s One ABQ: Youth Job and Volunteer Fair and explore available opportunities at cabq.gov/jobfair.
