Team Players Wanted at Your Local Community Centers and School Sites!

Community Centers

GET IN THE GAME! Be a Team Player at your local Community Center - We are looking periodically for talented, dedicated and professional staff members to work at one of over 22 Community Centers located throughout the City of Albuquerque.

APS School Sites

Join the Burque Kids and be a role model and mentor to the future Burquenos. We train you to provide fun safe and creative atmosphere for children ages 6-12 years old at local elementary schools throughout Albuquerque.

Therapeutic Recreation

Programs are offered for persons with and without disabilities, age 6 through adult. The program offers a variety of services that may include: art, leisure education, performing arts, gross motor activities, and games. The Loma Linda Community Center was remodeled to house the administrative offices for the Therapeutic Recreation program. The Center provides fully inclusive programs for youth and adults.

Part-time positions for these programs include:

Recreation Leader (Summer)

This position is hired to work no more than 9 months in a 12 month period.

Recreation Leader (Temporary)

This position is hired to work a length of service that may not exceed two years.

Recreation Leader (Students)

This position requires the employee to be enrolled in a high school or a college student carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Assistant Site Supervisor & Site Supervisor

These positions are also available depending on qualifications and the needs of programs.

Job Mentor Program

The Job Mentor Program hosts 7-week, paid summer internships in government, APS, and non-profit organizations. The program is open to any high school student, though priority is given to those who participate in the School Based part of the Job Mentor Program.

The Job Mentor Program partners with the Albuquerque Public School System to offer programming that includes classroom seminars and Job Shadows in 16 high schools during the school year. Learn more about the School Based Program.
