City Health, Housing & Homelessness Dept. Launches New Housing Voucher Tracking System Website
Department fulfills transparency required by Council resolution with live dashboard and streamlined application tracking.
ALBUQUERQUE, NM – Following through on a commitment to reform and modernize the City’s housing assistance infrastructure, the Albuquerque Department of Health, Housing, and Homelessness (HHH) announces the launch of the Department’s highly anticipated housing voucher tracking system website March 14, 2026.
The website launch marks the implementation phase of R-24-109, a resolution sponsored by City Councilors Renée Grout (District 9) and Nichole Rogers (District 6). The new digital platform is designed to replace fragmented legacy systems with a single, efficient portal that provides monthly updates for both voucher applicants and the public.
"The launch of this website is a promise kept to our citizens, and just the first step in a larger project to revamp the way we use taxpayer dollars to aid our most vulnerable residents,” said Councilor Renée Grout. “This portal makes our voucher system transparent and lays the groundwork for further improvements. It is the first recommendation from the committee that started meeting two years ago when we passed R-24-5 and will enable the Hospitality Renewal Initiative Working Group's other recommendations to move forward."
A New Era of Transparency and Efficiency
The development of this software was a core recommendation of the Housing Voucher Program Task Force, convened last year to address administrative bottlenecks and increase transparency. The new system introduces several critical features:
- Public-Facing Dashboard: Offers community-wide data on voucher utilization and processing times to ensure departmental accountability.
- Real-Time Applicant Tracking: Allows individuals to monitor the status of their housing vouchers in a secure, user-friendly environment.
- Uniform Policy Integration: Standardizes housing voucher policies across the city to eliminate confusion and speed up eligibility determinations.
- Streamlined Coordinated Entry: Improves the speed at which the most vulnerable residents are matched with permanent supportive housing or emergency shelter.
“Housing is the foundation of a stable life, and transparency is essential to ensuring housing dollars are spent responsibly,” said Councilor Nichole Rogers. “By improving how we track and report housing investments, this measure strengthens accountability, helps inform better decisions, and builds public trust in how resources are deployed.”
The HHH Department will provide a public demonstration of the new website and dashboard during a scheduled briefing later this month. This rollout completes the transition plan initiated in 2025, moving Albuquerque toward a more data-driven and compassionate approach to housing stability.
“The Housing Voucher Dashboard is an important step toward making our housing programs more transparent and easier to understand. By sharing clear data about how vouchers are allocated, used, and moving people into housing, we can better serve residents and ensure public resources are used effectively,” said HHH Deputy Director Charlie Verploegh. “This tool also helps providers, policymakers, and the public see how the system is working and where we can continue to improve.”
