Ventana Ranch Pickleball Courts Design Phase Complete

The Contractor and City are considering pricing and phase dates.
Construction is set to begin in 2024, with estimated completion in summer 2025 due to required temperature specifications for the surfacing product.

Hunter’s Run Park Playground

In June 2025, City Parks and Recreation will begin work on needed updates and renovations to Hunter’s Run Park. The work includes installation of new playground equipment, replacing the playground sand with engineered wood fiber, new park benches, picnic tables, and trash receptacles. District 5 Councilor Dan Lewis provided set-aside funds to refresh and renovate the 24-year-old park, and its original equipment and structures.

Petroglyph Estates Park Playground

The 2024 State Legislature's funding for the new Petroglyph Estates Park playground is now available. Parks and Recreation will now work with vendors and plan public meetings to garner neighborhood and visitor input prior to design and planning for the project.

George J. Maloof Memorial Air Park Improvements

The Maloof Air Park is a Parks and Recreation open space area providing safe location for the use of remote control airplanes, control line airplanes, helicopters, and cars.

The project will create new runway areas, paving at the control line field, drone zone training areas, spectator facilities and ADA upgrades to the parking lot.

Contractors for Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Department have completed renovations and repairs to Piñon Pointe Park playground in Ventana Ranch!

The City Parks & Recreation Department’s audit of the park and playground revealed that the park's playground climbing structure was aging and needed updates.

The playground structure's stepping, raised platforms, and side panels were all refurbished or replaced, and a brand-new double slide has been installed. The project was paid for with over $15K in Councilor Dan Lewis' set aside funds for parks within District 5.
