Description
George Tomsco founded the influential rock band The Fireballs with high school friends in Raton, New Mexico, in 1957. The original Fireballs recorded three Top Forty instrumental hits, “Bulldog,” “Torquay,”and “Quite a Party” featuring George's innovative electric guitar sound that helped inspire the surf guitar movement. In 1963, Jimmy Gilmer and the Fireballs topped the charts with the biggest selling song of the year, "Sugar Shack" and hit the Top Ten again in 1967 with "Bottle Of Wine." The band's music has also appeared in several films including Forrest Gump, From Dusk Till Dawn, and the series Supernatural.
