Roger Jameson & The Jaded Heart Trio to Headline Full Moon Concert
Albuquerque favorite Roger Jameson and the Jaded Heart Trio will perform their inspired Heartland Americana at the Open Space Visitor Center for the second Full Moon Concert of 2018. On Saturday, August 25, folks are encouraged to join the Parks and Recreation Department’s Open Space Division from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. for an evening of music, fun, and spectacular ambiance. Bring your lawn chairs, a picnic blanket, and a feast, or grab a bite to eat from a local food truck.
Roger Jameson & The Jaded Heart Trio features the signature nostalgia-inducing folk-country-rock songs of singer-songwriter Roger Jameson and the uniquely warm and textured sounds of Alicia Ultan (also of Bébé La La) on viola, plus Dave Williams on keyboard and saxophone, Mike Fox on bass, and Rick Crouse on drums.
In a review of the band's 2017 vinyl release, Big Black Bird, Music writer, Mel Minter writes, “A poet of broken dreams, unfulfilled promises, lost love, haunted memories, and damnably persistent hope.” Roger Jameson admits to a deeply romantic streak in his work, and “Big Black Bird” has all the earmarks familiar to his fans—and common to the classic country songs that he loves. There is the lonely motel room, the “sad and empty sunshine,” the longing for home—all delivered with a raspy ache in the voice over a driving rhythm. It’s classic three-chord rock and roll that might put you in mind of Bob Seger, Springsteen, and the like.
Just this past July, the Jaded Heart Band released their latest CD, Killer in the Sun, and they continue to perform at many venues around town, including Seasons, Savoy, Zinc, Scalo, St. Clair Winery and more!
