Albuquerque Parks and Recreation Announces Extended Friday Night Hours at Four City Pools

The City of Albuquerque’s Parks and Recreation Department today announced it will extend Friday evening hours at four of the City’s outdoor pools beginning Friday, June 15, 2018. Hours will be extended at the Sunport Pool, the Wilson Pool, the Rio Grande Pool, and the Sierra Vista Pool.

“One of the best ways to cool off during Albuquerque’s hot summers is to jump into one of our city pools,” stated Mayor Keller. “Now, we’re making our pools more accessible for families from all walks of life by extending the hours. The new hours will give folks another option for their Friday evenings throughout the summer.”

The extended Friday evening shift will run until 7:30 p.m. at the four pools. Admission is 50 cents per person for folks who enter after 5:00 p.m.

To celebrate the extended hours, the Parks and Recreation Aquatics Division will be giving out free popsicles to the first 50 swimmers on Friday, June 15 at these listed pools. This only applies to the new evening session.
