Southwest Bacon Fest
On Saturday, October 18 everyone driving down Alameda near the Balloon Museum will be enticed by the aroma of bacon, lots of bacon, as the 2nd Annual Southwest Bacon Fest opens its doors.
In its inaugural year the event drew more than 8,000 bacon lovers to the beautiful grounds of the Albuquerque Balloon Museum to check out hundreds of bacon-based food and drink options, hear live music and just have a great time.
Event producer Blue River Productions, also producer of the Southwest Chocolate & Coffee Fest, is offering even more this year. VIP entry opens at 10 a.m. From 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. more than 50 food vendors will be selling everything from bacon cakes, bacon candy, bacon pies, bacon art, bacon merchandise, and bacon burgers, to bacon-flavored beverages and more. Two stages will offer eight bands, cooking demos and bacon-eating contests. Winners of free bacon-themed games will score bacon-themed prizes.
