Information about youth and family programs at the Albuquerque Museum.

The Museum offers several different programs and materials for Youth and Family audiences.

Family Art Workshops

Museum visitors of all ages are invited to join us on Saturdays from 1 p.m.-2:30 p.m. in the Museum School to create a unique work of art based on the Museum's exhibitions.

All supplies are provided.

Family Art Workshops are free with Museum admission and are free to Museum members.

Art Start

The Albuquerque Museum offers special gallery experiences designed for preschoolers (ages 3-5). The Art Start program introduces preschoolers to the enjoyment of art through stories, songs, and play. The Museum continually offers learning opportunities for students of all ages to enrich knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of its collections and the variety of cultures and ideas they represent.

The schedule of Art Start classes for January through March is below:

JAN 8 Hear the Beat
JAN 22 All Things Shiny and Bright
FEB 12 Happy Trails
FEB 26 Mi Casa, Su Casa
MAR 12 Roots and Ancestors
MAR 26 This and That

Contact Theresa Sedillo at 505.243.7255 to make a reservation. Each child must be accompanied by an adult. Tours are limited to 8 children and their caregiver. Regular admission fees apply. Art Start is a one hour gallery experience; it does not include art projects.

Family Days

The Museum hosts exhibition-based Family Days several times per year.

These days typically include an art activity and an interactive activity in the exhibition gallery.
