A Safe Outdoor Space (SOS) provides dedicated spaces for tents, recreational vehicles (RVs), and/or light vehicles for temporary occupancy. An SOS also provides social services and support facilities for occupants.

These plans and studies have been done within the last 10 years and should be used as the basis of design for transportation projects in the public right-of-way undertaken in these areas.
