The theme for this year’s State of the City address is “A Future Worth Fighting For.”
Day in and day out, Animal Welfare Department team is putting in the hard work to make Albuquerque a brighter future for all pets, families who love them and who will give them homes.
Here are a few of Animal Welfare Department Accomplishments:
- Made improvements to animal facilities, including: shelter sites upgrades, spacious play yards, dedicated bonding areas, rejuvenated landscaping and HVAC system upgraded to refrigerated air.
- Revamped our website and launched a new dashboard, which features a real-time operational and pet outcome-statistics to promote transparency and build trust with the CABQ community.
- Held spay/neuter surgery blitzes for low-and moderate-income residents, where 725 community owned pets were spayed and neutered.
- Implemented free personalized pet tags for pet owners of dogs and cats.
