Day in and day out, Animal Welfare Department team is putting in the hard work to make Albuquerque a brighter future for all pets, families who love them and who will give them homes.

Here are a few of Animal Welfare Department Accomplishments:

  • Made improvements to animal facilities, including: shelter sites upgrades, spacious play yards, dedicated bonding areas, rejuvenated landscaping and HVAC system upgraded to refrigerated air.
  • Revamped our website and launched a new dashboard, which features a real-time operational and pet outcome-statistics to promote transparency and build trust with the CABQ community.
  • Held spay/neuter surgery blitzes for low-and moderate-income residents, where 725 community owned pets were spayed and neutered.
  • Implemented free personalized pet tags for pet owners of dogs and cats.
