Calling Kitten Caregivers

Animal Welfare Department is offering training classes to take care of kittens

The Albuquerque Animal Welfare Department (AWD) is in need of volunteers to be part of our kitten nursery team. AWD’s first orphan kitten caregiver classes will start in March. To sign up or for more information, please send an email with your contact information to  [email protected] . Our staff will then have you complete an online application to become part of our volunteer team.

Volunteers will be part of a trained nursery team providing intensive care to orphaned and under age/weight kittens at the shelter clinic until foster families are secured. Responsibilities include bottle feeding, some minor medical care and assessment, socializing, kennel and incubator cleaning, stocking supplies.

AWD is always looking for foster parents to provide temporary homes for our shelter pets. Fostering is a rewarding experience, knowing you’re helping to save precious lives. If you are interested in fostering, apply here. For information email at [email protected] .

By being part of the One Albuquerque team, you will make a true impact in the lives of animals without homes.
