Description

Tara Armijo-Prewitt is a New Mexican photographer, entomologist and educator. An observer of life at all levels, Tara's photos depict the sights, sounds and surprises seen on city streets as well as in natural habitats. When she's not working on her computer creating educational opportunities for adults or moderating bug identification pages, Tara can be found exploring the NM desert, city events or bug hunting in bushes with her iPhone to capture all that crosses her path.

Her "Small Worlds" photo collection would provide Open Space visitors with the opportunity to explore interactions among insects and their natural habitats in various ways. Tara is experienced in providing hands-on workshops for youth to increase appreciation for bugs as well as speaking with people of all ages about insect behavior, habitats and roles in our ecosystem. She would enjoy opportunities to share presentations in addition to exhibiting her work.
