We assist employees and supervisors in understanding and navigating FMLA, which provides eligible employees with up to 12 weeks of job-protected leave for certain family and medical reasons.

On February 5th, 2026, the City will be transitioning to a new electronic FMLA process conveniently available in Employee Self-Service. This updated process will streamline how employees apply for FMLA and submit required documentation, helping to improve efficiency, accuracy, and communication throughout the entire process.
