Aquarium Gift Shop

The gift shop at the Aquarium is open from 9 am to 5 pm daily except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day.

Shark Reef Café

The Shark Reef Café proudly serves breakfast and lunch (breakfast is served until 11 am).

The menu includes breakfast burritos, pancakes, salads, burgers, fish and chips, sandwiches, and kid's meals.

We offer a variety of drink options, including fountain drinks, specialty-made drinks, drip coffee, hot or cold espresso drinks, local beer, and wine.

Please place your order at the front counter and have a seat where you’d like!

All tables are on a first come first serve basis. No Reservations.

Tadpole Springs

Tadpole springs is a compact, kid-focused spray pad at the ABQ BioPark Aquarium where children can cool off and play. With cattail-inspired water play, this feature is designed for families with young children. The space features two play zones scaled for different ages: a family zone with more dynamic arcs for older kids and a tot zone with gentler sprays for little ones. 

Tadpole Springs, located outside of the BioPark Aquarium’s Shark Reef Cafe, operates during warm weather. Operating hours are generally 9 am to 4:30 pm, but subject to change without advance notice.

Weather permitting, the schedule for the 2026 season is:

• March 28 through April 5: daily 
• April 11 through May 22: Saturdays and Sundays only
• May 23 through September 7 (Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day): daily
• September 12 through October 11: Saturdays and Sundays only

Tadpole Springs Rules:

• All children under the age of 11 must be supervised by an adult 18 years or older
• Do not enter in the presence of thunder and/or lightning
• Do not drink water spraying from water features
• No running, pushing, or horseplay
• Food and drink must be kept in the deck picnic area only
• Water shoes are encouraged
• Dry off before exiting though the Shark Reef Café
• Appropriate swim/water play attire is required
• All infants/toddlers that require a diaper must wear swimmer diapers
• Use the spray pad at your own risk
