This free event will be an opportunity for families with children of all ages to get close to fire trucks, rescue vehicles, police cars, and road construction equipment. There will be food trucks, a climbing wall, and more!

The event will include:

  • Law enforcement vehicles from APD, BCSO and the State Police
  • Fire trucks
  • Construction equipment including a front-end loader, a dump truck, a motor grader, and a vactor, which is used to clean out storm drains
  • Garbage trucks
  • The City’s Aviation, Community Safety, Arts & Culture, Senior Affairs, Parks & Rec, and Family and Community Services departments will have activities and demonstrations for the kids
  • The Animal Welfare Department will have a pet adoption event
  • Parks & Rec will have their climbing wall set up
  • Music will be provided by DJ Evan from Red Sapphire Entertainment

“Touch a Truck is our opportunity to show off the wonderful services that the City offers our citizens,” said District 9 City Councilor Renée Grout. “But it’s really our people who make our City great. I hope you’ll come say hello and bring your children to meet our First Responders and learn more about summer programs in the City.”
