Animal Welfare & City Councilor Fiebelkorn Join APNA & Positive Links to celebrate pets.

May 20, 2022

District 7’s Altura Park Neighborhood Association is bringing together the City’s Animal Welfare Department and various nonprofits for a Pet Fair and Community Social. Festivities will include a Mutt Strutt fundraiser where dogs are encouraged to show off and win prizes.

“This is a perfect way to kick off the summer and a chance to provide animal services to the district. The Altura Park Neighborhood Association has truly outdone themselves putting this event together and I hope we will continue to do more events like this with all our neighborhoods,” said Councilor Tammy Fiebelkorn

“Animal Welfare is delighted to be surrounded by both our furry and non-furry friends. We’re excited to be in the community, offer our services, and play in the park,” mentioned Director Ortega of the Animal Welfare Department.

Other activities will include animal vaccinations and microchipping, face painting, family yoga, the Pop Fizz ice cream truck, Tia Mom’s Cocina sweets, and a raffle. Funds collected will go to supporting Positive Links, a local nonprofit that works to raise awareness about the connection between animal abuse and human violence.

“I love it when we come together, in our amazing city parks, and show our appreciation for our animal friends and companions” Councilor Fiebelkorn added, who will be there with her own mutt, Cinderella.

Those who wish to register for the Mutt Strutt or purchase raffle tickets in advance can do so at http://www.thelinknm.com.
