New Mexico State Land Office Seeking Affordable Housing Partners for ABQ Metro Area Properties
The State Land Office (NMSLO) solicits proposals from developers, nonprofits and Community Organizations for four parcels in the Albuquerque Metropolitan Area.
Albuquerque NM - New Mexico Land Commissioner Stephanie Garcia Richard is seeking partners for affordable housing or other economic development projects on four well-positioned state land parcels located in the Albuquerque metro area to help meet community needs and generate revenue for New Mexico’s public institutions.
One of the four sites, 230 Truman St. NE (0.599 acres w/ existing building), is located in City Council District 6.
The Special Projects team at the State Land Office has issued a Request for Interest (RFI) to solicit proposals from developers, nonprofits, and community organizations on the best uses of the parcels for long-term leases. Proposals are due to the State Land Office by Monday, July 6, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

- Bataan Dr. SW & Coors Blvd. SW (1.38 acres)
- 10408 Central Ave. SE (1.95 acres)

The NMSLO is requiring any housing projects to include clear affordable options, including but not limited to single-family, multifamily, senior, supportive, or transitional housing.
The RFI’s key dates are as follows:
