Albuquerque, NM – District 5 City Councilor Dan Lewis announced today that the long-awaited renovations to Hunter’s Run park and playground will begin in June 2025. Councilor Lewis provided set-aside funds to refresh and renovate the 24-year-old park, and its original equipment and structures.

Located at 10300 Chandler Drive NW, Hunter’s Run Park is over 3 acres of great family fun.  The park overlooks the Arroyo de las Calabacillas and offers great views, open meadows, a walking path, and trail connections.

“The park serves both the Cottonwood Heights and Trails West neighborhoods and is well used by District 5 residents,” said Councilor Dan Lewis. “The park’s original playground structures, benches, and picnic tables were showing signs of aging and wear. Neighbors reached out to my office to see what could be done. I was happy to provide money from my set-aside funds to replace the park’s worn playground equipment, picnic tables, park benches, trash receptacles, and playground surfaces.”

The new playground equipment and renovations are to be completed during Summer 2025.
