Albuquerque Museum Collections Offer Form – Art Department

Thank you for your interest in offering a work of art for Albuquerque Museum’s permanent collection.

The Albuquerque Museum art department must be discerning in selecting artworks that support our collecting mission and that the museum can responsibly care for in perpetuity. The art collection at Albuquerque Museum is focused on the Southwest region of the United States, collecting works primarily by artists with a connection to New Mexico. Selections are based on several factors including: prominence of the artist, caliber of the artwork, condition of the artwork, current representation of the artist or genre already in the collection, and the connection to the Southwest. In an effort to ensure that Albuquerque Museum’s collection is representative of the diverse makeup of our city, state, and region, the museum’s current focus is on collecting work by Latina artists, contemporary Native American artists, and artists important to the New Mexico narrative who have not been previously collected, including women artists.
