Description
Join us for a talk with Nanibah Chacon, a Diné and Chicana multidisciplinary artist whose paintings, murals, illustrations, and sculptures address social issues affecting women and Indigenous communities. Her most recognizable works include murals and installations in public spaces reflecting her belief that art should be accessible and a meaningful catalyst for social change.
As the current Albuquerque Museum Visiting Artist, Chacon will share the ideas and inspirations behind her work, including “Erase the Horse…”a thought-provoking installation currently on view in the lobby.
The Visiting Artist Program is generously supported by the Frederick Hammersley Fund for the Arts at the Albuquerque Community Foundation.
